An Emiliani family legacy… that we proudly continue.

The Emiliani family started doing business in 1953 when its founder, James Emiliani, began servicing barbers from the back of his truck. He was later joined by his brothers Domenic, Sal and Roi. Domenic Emiliani went on to start Roma Beauty Supply in central New Jersey which later merged with Emiliani Beauty Supply to form Emiliani Enterprises. The company grew to over 400 employees, 16 stores and territory expanded over 3 states. L’Oreal later acquired Emiliani Enterprises, however the second generation of family members were able to keep the Paul Mitchell brand, and branched off to begin their own business venture.

James Emilliani began selling products to professional barbers from the trunk of his car.

1954

Expanded business to include selling to unisex salons. Emiliani Beauty Supply was born.

1962

Opened our first location in Irvington, NJ.

1969

Domenic Emiliani opened Emiliani Branch II (Roma Beauty Supply) in Highland Park, NJ.

1972

Opened Springfield Ave. in Irvington, NJ.

1975

Opened 1100 MorrisAve. in Union, NJ.

1985

Roma Beauty Supply moved to Edison, NJ.

1990

Opened 735 Rahway Ave. in Union, NJ.

1992

Emiliani Beauty Supply and Roma Beauty Supply merged into one company to form Emiliani Enterprises.

1998

Emiliani began representing Paul Mitchell products.

2006

Opened 600 Green Lane in Union, NJ.

2010

Emiliani Enterprises expanded into New York with the Paul Mitchell brand.

2012

L’oreal Professional acquired Emiliani Enterprises.

2013

Emiliani family formed new company, Paul Mitchell Metro in Parsippany, NJ.

2017

Paul Mitchell Metro rebranded to Emiliani Metro.

2022

Opened first Emiliani Metro store in Parsippany, NJ.
